THE 12 CONSTELLATIONS OF THE ZODIAC IN ORDER ARE: ARIES, TAURUS, GEMINI, CANCER, LEO, VIRGO, LIBRA, SCORPIUS, SAGITTARIUS, CAPRICORNUS, AQUARIUS AND PISCES.
BETWEEN SCORPIUS AND SAGITTARIUS, HOWEVER, IS ANOTHER!
HIT THE DARKNESS AND LOOK SOUTHEAST AROUND 11PM AND HALFWAY UP THE SKY YOU’LL SEE THE STAR RASALHAGUE THAT STAR MARKS THE HEAD OF THE 13TH CONSTELLATION THAT THE SUN PASSES THROUGH ON ITS YEARLY JOURNEY THROUGH THE ZODIAC.
IT’S OPHIUCUS AND HE IS OFTEN REPRESENTED AS A MAN HOLDING A SNAKE, WITH A FOOT NEAR SCORPIUS THE SCORPION.
THAT’S SO METAL.
OPHIUCHUS ISN’T IN THE ASTROLOGICAL ZODIAC BECAUSE WHEN IT WAS MADE UP 2500 YEARS AGO THEY PICKED ONE ZODIAC FOR EACH OF THE 12 LUNAR MONTHS IN A YEAR.
EVEN THOUGH THE SUN PASSES THROUGH HIM TODAY THEY JUST SKIP HIM OVER.
HE’S STILL ONE OF THE 88 RECOGNIZED CONSTELLATIONS THOUGH, GO OUT AND SEE HIM AND KEEP LOOKING UP!
